All that happens as we attempt disclosure is an encounter with truth. This makes an Platonic like abstraction of it. Truth: that something is as we say it is. A cursory definition, but doesn’t it get to the heart of the matter. We are the speakers making the pronouncements. We try to guard against the dread gods of error and delusion, to say something and for it to be the case. But what is the case? ‘The cat sat one the mat’ I pronounce before my empirical certainty. But here the danger is terrifying, the anthropomorphism of the action, the reality of the mat (maybe it is a rug?).
No matter. Every time we seek the truth it comes out to greet us. It helpfully gives us itself. All striving is disclosure, truth revealing.
